When: Saturday July 14th, a day trip on the Delaware River.
(Raindate 7/21) Cost: $32 per person. If you need to be partnered with someone let me know your experience level. Single person kayaks are also available for $37. A $10 deposit is required per person. If you are already signed up check out Canoe Trip Details. Pictures from the 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000 canoe trips are on the web. |
Where: Put in at Barryville and finish up at Matamoras. This is a "whitewater" section of the river. An easy day trip with a bit more variety than further north and a lot less paddling than further south. The majority of this section of the Delaware is calm and like canoeing on a lake but there are sections of whitewater. You'll have to provide your own transportation to Matamoras which is where we will meet at 8:30 am. From there (at 9 am) we'll be bused to Barryville and you'll canoe back down the river to your car. Plan on being on the river for at least 7 hours. |

All participants must know how to swim. Children must be at least 4 years
old, know how to swim, and weigh at least 40 lbs. for life vests to fit securely. While the Delaware is not a technically challenging river, there are inherent risks in an outdoor activity of this sort. All participants will be required to sign a waiver by the canoe outfitter. If you are inexperienced, pair up with someone who is. If you need help pairing up, let me know.
