Making of Mammoth Tour - This tour is 2-1/2 miles and discovers the geologic beginnings of Mammoth Cave. Trip investigated the cave's ancient origins 325 million years ago all the way to its ongoing formation today. Descends to the very bottom of the cave, the water table.
Violet City Lantern Tour - This tour was 3 miles and follows the path of famous explorers. This tour takes you by a saltpeter mining operation, evidence of prehistoric exploration, historic tuberculosis hospital ruins, and some of the largest rooms and passageways in the cave.
Grand Avenue Tour - This tour was 4 miles and shows the cave's geologic diversity. We hiked through four separate aspects of cave formation and discovered why some of these passages were originally named "Grand Avenue".
