The first forty years: An Unauthorized Biography.
They had a modest wedding, but like any young couple, they set their sights on grander things for the future.
Their honeymoon in Atlantic City was memorable, but it didn't award them any frequent flier miles.
They thoroughly enjoyed married life, taking full advantage of all NYC had to offer.
Joe took his Elvis impersonation act to local retirement homes to supplement his city job.
They had quite adventurous travels in the early years.
But it was Joe's animal magnetism that finally roped Marge in.
Without further delay, they started a family and moved to the suburbs.
They kept a democratic household and split the chores evenly.
Joe took his work as a truant officer quite seriously. At times he and Marge tried to relate to the kids from the Bronx in any way they could.
Another endeavor they took seriously, was their search for their roots. Despite all Joe's efforts to link his family to the Romanoff dynasty, the closest he came to fame was...
...a vague resemblance to Hagar the Horrible,
and before that,
an eerie likeness to Fred and Wilma Flinstone.
After Tina's graduation from medical school, they finally felt a burden lifted from their shoulders.
This allowed them to once again embark on travel, however, Joe often took advantage of "alternative modes of travel", just to save a few bucks.
Marge had different ideas of what a vacation should be.
In fact, most people don't realize that on their many trips to Hawaii, they got free room and board in exchange for their performances at several luaus.
Joe even competed in sporting events to try to win admission to free food buffets.
After years of complaining about Paterno's coaching of Penn State games, Joe finally got a position on the team.
Marge however will still not go to a game in bad weather.
All in all, it's been a great forty years...
...which is evident in these photos of the many faces of Joe and Marge.
